Basic usage data — which listings you open, which filters you use. No name, no email, no account. myql.ca is for people 16 and up.
Some features coming soon (rental pre-qualification, restaurant deal alerts, event reminders) will need more — like a way to reach you and what you're looking for (budget, bedrooms, move-in date). We'll ask at the moment you use the feature, tell you exactly what's collected and why, and never use it for anything else without asking again.
We use PostHog for analytics — which pages get opened, which filters get used, where people drop off. It sets a cookie with an anonymous ID. No name, no email, doesn't follow you off this site, doesn't go to ad networks.
myql.ca is free for users. We're working toward making money from landlords, restaurants, and event organizers — they pay us for things like promoted listings, sending offers to people who'd actually want them, or boosting an event in the feed. We'll mark promoted content as such. We don't sell your data — we sell their reach to you.
Today, alerts (restaurant deals, event reminders) appear on the site — we don't email or text you. If we add outbound messages later, we'll ask you to opt in first, only send what you asked for, and include a one-tap unsubscribe in every message.
You can ask us what we have on you, correct it, or delete it. Email hello@myql.ca and we'll handle it within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
Anonymous usage data: rolling 12 months. Anything you submit (pre-qual answers, alert sign-ups): until you remove it or ask us to.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy we'll update this page and note the date. Nothing sneaky.
